Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 30.25 million mt in July of the current year, rising by 4.2 percent compared to June and down by 11 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in July totaled $996.4 million, decreasing by eight percent compared to the previous month and down 27 percent year on year.
In July, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 513,400 mt, falling by 31.8 percent compared to the previous month and down by 44.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $188.7 million, decreasing by 21.5 percent compared to June and down 39.6 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in July Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 196,000 metric tons, falling by 21.8 percent from June and down by 47.3 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $105.4 million, falling by 21.6 percent month on month and down 47.2 percent from the July 2015 level.
