Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 28.9 million mt in April of the current year, falling by 4.4 percent compared to March and up by 0.8 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in April totaled $960.8 million, increasing by 23.7 percent compared to the previous month and down 17.3 percent year on year.
In April, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 601,201 mt, falling 15 percent compared to the previous month and up by 47.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $152.3 million, decreasing by 17.2 percent compared to March and down 5.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in March Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 264,199 metric tons, falling by 24.2 percent from March and up by 101.2 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $118.3 million, falling by 17.3 percent month on month and up 27.6 percent from the April 2015 level.
