CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output down one percent in Jan-Oct

In October this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.002 million units and 2.047 million units, decreasing by 10.0 percent and 13.0 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-October period of the current year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 19.35 million units and 19.304 million units, both decreasing by 1.0 percent year on year.

As for commercial vehicles, the output and sales volumes in October amounted to 332,000 units and 333,000 units, decreasing by 10.3 percent and 2.8 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-October period of the current year, output and sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 3.476 million units and 3.567 million units, rising by 3.4 percent and 5.5 percent year on year, respectively.
