In October this year, China produced 146,000 new energy vehicles, up 58.1 percent year on year, including 116,000 pure electric passenger cars and 29,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 49.7 percent and 104.0 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-October period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 879,000 units, up 70.0 percent on year-on-year basis, including 670,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 56.9 percent, and 209,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 132 percent year on year, respectively.
