China’s new energy vehicle output up 73 percent in January-September

In September this year, China produced 127,000 new energy vehicles, up 64.4 percent year on year, including 100,000 pure electric passenger cars and 27,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 56.1 percent and 104.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).


In the January-September period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 735,000 units, up 73 percent on year-on-year basis, including 555,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 58.9 percent, and 18,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 138 percent year on year, respectively.
