In August this year, China produced 99,000 new energy vehicles, up 39.0 percent year on year, including 72,000 pure electric passenger cars and 27,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 24.2 percent and 102.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-August period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 607,000 units, up 75.4 percent on year-on-year basis, including 455,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 60.2 percent, and 15,200 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 144.2 percent year on year, respectively.
