China’s steel sheet/plate exports up 26.5% in Jan-Nov, down in Nov from Oct

China’s steel sheet/plate exports totaled 68.75 million mt in the January-November period this year, up 26.5 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In November alone, China exported 6.0 million mt of steel sheet/plate, up 9.9 percent year on year, while down 22.3 percent compared to the export volume of 7.72 million mt recorded in October.

In November, China’s HRC export prices moved up first while edged down later, with the highest price level during the month at $518/mt FOB on average from large mills seen during November 5-11, and with the lowest level at $495/mt FOB observed on November 26-30, according to SteelOrbis’ data.
