Chinese shipbuilding firms’ output value decreases in January-August

In the January-August period this year, 94 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 280.0 billion ($41.99 billion), down 2.3 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).

In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 109.0 billion ($16.35 billion) in value, down three percent year on year.

In the January-August period, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 190.0 billion ($28.49 billion), down 3.6 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 2.83 billion ($0.42 billion), decreasing by 24.4 percent, both year on year.
