France's steel product import value down 3.5 percent in January-August

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-August period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €5.25 billion, decreasing by 3.5 percent year on year.
 
During the period in question, France imported €1.33 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 27.4 percent, €351.16 million of cold rolled steel strip - decreasing by 13.07 percent, €230.6 million of cold drawn wire - down 0.4 percent, €248.84 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 2.8 percent, and €907.9 million of metal structures and parts - declining by 6.4 percent, all compared to the January-August period of 2014.
