According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in July this year moved down by 30.4 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, increasing to 23 ships, compared to 21 ships recorded in June, totaling 752.650 gross tons, including 16 carriers, four tankers and three general cargo ships.
In the first seven months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 150 ships with an aggregate of 5.87 million gross tons, down 30.1 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in July, Japan delivered 18 ships for export, totaling 1.16 million gross tons, compared to 25 ships totaling 1.04 million gross tons recorded in June.
Meanwhile, in the January-July period this year, Japan delivered 128 ships for export, totaling 5.61 million gross tons, increasing by 4.9 percent year on year.
