According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in October this year moved up by 11.1 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, decreasing to 16 ships including one general cargo ship, 13 carriers and 2 tankers totaling 971,040 gross tons, compared to 21 ships recorded in September.
In the first ten months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 201 ships with an aggregate of 8.11 million gross tons, down 15.9 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in October, Japan delivered 16 ships for export, totaling 817,718 gross tons, compared to 18 ships totaling 752,311 gross tons recorded in September.
Meanwhile, in the January-October period this year, Japan delivered 171 ships for export, totaling 7.41 million gross tons, remaining almost stable year on year.
