MMZ’s crude steel output up 12.2 percent in December from November

In December last year, Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, produced 45,592 mt of crude steel, up 12.2 percent, and 26,110 mt of rolled products, rising by 20.6 percent, including 11,942 mt of reinforcing bars and 14,168 mt of wire rod, both compared to November. 
 
The company’s rolled product shipments in December totaled 27,590 mt, up 15 percent compared to November.
 
In 2015, the company’s crude steel production totaled 430,145 mt, while rolled product output amounted to 323,996 mt.
 
MMZ expects to produce 20,000 mt of rolled steel products in January this year, to be delivered to Moldova, Ukraine and EU countries.
