Renewable energy and offshore wind platforms have been discussed at a thematic forum held in Cernobbio, Italy, and promoted by The European House - Ambrosetti. As reported by media sources, Italian steel producer Acciaierie d'Italia wants to be part of this evolution.

The former Ilva plant will be part of the project “Floating Offshore Wind Community,” created by the European House - Ambrosetti, in partnership with renewable energy player Renantis, BlueFloat Energy and shipbuilder Fincantieri.

As reported by local media, Italy has what it takes to be among European leaders in offshore wind, thanks to its geographical position. Acciaierie d’Italia has decided to participate in the project both as a qualified and certified producer of structural steel and plates, and to support the energy transition process and achieve the decarbonization of its processes. Important investments are planned to enhance its production lines and produce plates suitable for offshore uses.
