Brazil exported 2,800 mt of heavy plates in June, against 11,900 mt in May.

The shipments of June were destined to the US (2,400 mt at $991/mt) and to South American countries (400 mt at $1,280/mt), FOB conditions.

The exporters were Usiminas (2,500 mt at $1,048/mt), and Gerdau (200 mt at $820/mt), while 100 mt at $949/mt were shipped by traders.

Meanwhile, Brazil imported in June 2,000 mt of heavy plates, against 6,400 mt in May.

The imports were from China (1,900 mt at $649/mt) and Europe (100 mt at $1,276/mt), also FOB conditions.

According to analysts, the decline of exports reflects postponements of shipments from June to July.
