In the January-April period this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 8.355 million units and 8.235 million units, increasing by 8.6 percent and 7.1 percent year on year, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the first four months, production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) totaled 2.291 million units and 2.222 million units, both up 42.8 percent year on year, with the market share reaching 27.0 percent in the given month.
In April alone, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China totaled 2.133 million units and 2.159 million units, down 17.5 percent and 11.9 percent month on month, while up 76.8 percent and 82.7 percent year on year, respectively. In the given month, production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) amounted to 640,000 units and 636,000 units, down 5.0 percent and 2.5 percent month on month, respectively, while both up 1.1-fold year on year, with the market share reaching 29.5 percent in the given month.
In April, China’s NEV sales continued their good performance, resulting in a steady increase in market share.
