CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales up 47% during Apr 1-9

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China reached 328,000 units in the April 1-9 period, up 47 percent year on year, while up 8.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the current year up to April 9, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 4.614 million units, down 10.0 percent year on year.   

In the April 1-9 period, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 91,000 units, down 8.0 percent year on year, while declining by 5.0 percent month on month.   

In the current year up to April 9, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales reached 1.414 million units, up 21.0 percent year on year. 

According to the CPCA, passenger sales in China will improve in April amid the good market environment, while there is some uncertainty related to standard VI, which will result in cautious sentiments among market players.
