CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales up 67.0 percent on May 1-7

The passenger vehicle retail sales in China reached 375,000 units in the May 1-7 period, up 67.0 percent year on year, while up 46.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the current year up to May 7, the passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 6.27 million units, up 1.0 percent year on year. 

In the May 1-7 period, the new energy passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 99,000 units, up 128.0 percent year on year, while up 38.0 percent month on month. 

In the current year up to May 7, the new energy passenger vehicle retail sales reached 1.943 million units, up 39.0 percent year on year. 

According to CPCA, the passenger sales in China will likely increase in May amid the instable supply chain in the same period of last year.
