CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales up 62% on April 1-16

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China reached 665,000 units in the April 1-16 period, up 62.0 percent year on year, while rising by 15.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the current year up to April 16, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 4.95 million units, down 7.0 percent year on year.   

In the April 1-16 period, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 223,000 units, up 89.0 percent year on year, while increasing by 13.0 percent month on month.   

In the current year up to April 16, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales reached 1.546 million units, up 30.0 percent year on year.   

According to the CPCA, the market environment is quite good in April, which will exert a positive impact on the production and sales of automotive enterprises.
