CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales up 72% during April 1-22

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China totaled 1.007 million units in the April 1-22 period this year, up 72 percent year on year, while rising by 20.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). In the current year up to April 22, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 5.293 million units, down four percent year on year.

Meanwhile, new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales in China totaled 352,000 units in the April 1-22 period, up 98 percent year on year, while rising by 13 percent month on month. In the current year up to April 22, NEV retail sales in China amounted to 1.675 million units, up 34.0 percent year on year.
