CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 6.6 percent in January-April

In April this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.834 million units and 1.779 million units, decreasing by 14.4 percent and 13.5 percent month on month, while rising by 4.5 percent and 6.5 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-April period this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 7.537 million units and 7.448 million units, up 6.6 percent and 6.7 percent year on year, respectively.

As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales volumes in April amounted to 336,000 units and 343,000 units, down 11 percent and 10.6 percent month on month, while increasing by 3.1 percent and 5.4 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-April period, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 1.223 million units and 1.202 million units, up 0.6 percent and 2.7 percent year on year, respectively.
