CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 7.3 percent in Q1

In March this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.143 million units and 2.056 million units, increasing by 52.8 percent and 49.3 percent month on month, while rising by 11 percent and 9.8 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-March period this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 5.702 million units and 5.669 million units, up 7.3 percent and 6.8 percent year on year, respectively.
 
As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales volumes in March amounted to 377,000 units and 384,000 units, rising by 80.1 percent and 87.9 percent month on month, while increasing by 6.4 percent and 3.8 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-March period, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 888,000 units and 858,000 units, down 0.3 percent and rising by 1.2 percent year on year, respectively.
