China’s new energy vehicle output up 126.8 percent in January-April

In April this year, China produced 31,266 new energy vehicles, up 178.3 percent year on year, including 23,918 pure electric passenger cars and 7,348 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 227.9 percent and 86.5 percent year on year, respectively, according to latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

In the January-April period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 94,442 units, up 126.8 percent on year-on-year basis, including 70,552 pure electric passenger cars and 23,890 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 165.3 percent and 58.8 percent year on year, respectively.
