On September 15, Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (WISCO) published its steel prices for October. The details are as follows (comparisons are with September price levels):
1. Prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) products have increased by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt). As a result, the new price of Q235 5.5 mm × 1,500 mm HRC is RMB 4, 260/mt ($633/mt), while that of SPHC 2.75 mm × 1,250 mm is RMB 4,400/mt ($654/mt).
2. Prices of common carbon and low carbon plate have increased by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt), while prices of other steel plate products have remained unchanged. Thus, the new price of Q235 14-20 mm medium plate stands at RMB 4,480/mt ($666/mt).
3. Common carbon wire rod prices have been raised by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt), while prices of other categories have increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt).
4. Prices of cold rolled (CR) products have increased by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt).
5. Prices of common carbon galvanized coil have risen by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt), with the new price of DX51D+Z 1.0 mm galvanized coil standing at RMB 5,433/mt ($808/mt).
6. Structural steel product prices have remained unchanged
7. Prices of non-grain-oriented silicon steel, of low and medium grades, have increased by RMB 400/mt ($59/mt).
8. Color coated product prices have increased by RMB 400/mt ($59/mt)
9. Tinplate prices have risen by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt).
All the above prices are ex-mill, effective from September 15, and do not include 17 percent VAT
