In September this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market fell by 11 percent year on year to 250,082 units but were up 10.4 percent compared to August, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year Germany's new car registrations fell by two percent year on year, totaling 2.36 million units.
During September this year a total of 349,400 passenger cars were exported from Germany, down 13 percent compared to September 2011 but up 22.9 percent month on month. In the first nine months of the year, German passenger car exports amounted to 3.15 million units, falling by one percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 450,600 cars were produced in Germany in September, falling 16 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 22.3 percent month on month. German car output in the first nine months of 2012 amounted to 4.1 million units, falling two percent on year-on-year basis.
In September, new commercial vehicle registrations in the Germany fell by 17 percent year on year to 24,138 units, while in the first nine months of this year new commercial vehicle registrations in the country fell by four percent year on year, totaling 232,540 units.
