German passenger car output down three percent in H1

In June this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market fell by five percent year on year to 282,900 units, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first half of this year Germany's new car registrations fell eight percent year on year, totaling 1,502,600 units.

During June this year a total of 354,100 passenger cars were exported from Germany, up one percent compared to June 2012, while in the first half of the year German passenger car exports amounted to 2,082,500 units, decreasing three percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 476,500 cars were produced in Germany in June, rising three percent compared to the same month of the previous year. German car output in the first six months of 2013 amounted to 2,738,900 units, down three percent year on year.
