In June this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market rose by three percent year on year to 296,800 units, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first half of this year Germany's new car registrations rose one percent year on year, totaling 1,634,500 units.
However, during June this year a total of 350,900 passenger cars were exported, up 9 percent compared to June 2011. However, in the first half of the year, German passenger car exports amounted to 2,155,700 units, decreasing one percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 462,400 cars were produced in Germany in June, rising six percent compared to the same month of the previous year. German car output in the first six months of 2012 amounted to 2,835,000 units, down one percent year on year.
