In July this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market fell by five percent year on year to 248,000 units and were down 16.4 percent compared to June, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year Germany's new car registrations remained stable year on year, totaling 1,882,400 units.
However, during July this year a total of 342,200 passenger cars were exported, up three percent compared to July 2011 and down 2.5 percent month on month. In the first seven months of the year, German passenger car exports amounted to 2,495,400 units, remaining unchanged compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 457,700 cars were produced in Germany in July, rising five percent compared to the same month of the previous year but down one percent month on month. German car output in the first seven months of 2012 amounted to 3,294,500 units, stable on year-on-year basis.
In July, new commercial vehicle registrations in the Germany fell by three percent year on year to 26,880 units, while in the first seven months of this year new commercial vehicle registrations in the country fell by two percent year on year, totaling 184,550 units.
