In April this year, Germany's passenger car output fell by 21.5 percent month on month to 425,600 units, and was down 10 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year Germany's car output fell two percent year on year, totaling 1,924,500 units.
During April this year, a total of 323,000 passenger cars were exported from Germany, decreasing 22.6 percent compared to the previous month and down 14 percent from April 2011. In the first four months of the year, German passenger car exports amounted to 1,460,600 units, decreasing five percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 274,200 new cars were registered in Germany in April, rising three percent compared to the same month of the previous year. German new car registrations in the first four months of 2012 amounted to 1,047,800 units, up two percent year on year.
