France's steel product import value down 21 percent in Q1

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first quarter of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €1.97 billion, decreasing by 21 percent year on year.

In the given period, France imported €484.47 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 2.4 percent, €95.14 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 26.9 percent, €170.65 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 8.1 percent, €101.66 million of cold drawn wire - declining by 10.5 percent, and €381.56 million of metal structures and parts - decreasing by 14.2 percent, all compared to the same period in 2019.
