France's steel product import value down 31.6 percent in Jan-May

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-May period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €2.81 billion, decreasing by 31.6 percent year on year.

In the given period, France imported €675.03 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 17.9 percent, €130.92 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 38.1 percent, €237.54 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 24.1 percent, €147.29 million of cold drawn wire - declining by 21.6 percent, and €589.51 million of metal structures and parts - decreasing by 26.6 percent, all compared to the same period in 2019.
