France's steel product import value down 9.3 percent in 2019

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €8.7 billion in 2019, falling by 9.3 percent year on year.

During the year in question, France imported €1.83 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 2.8 percent, €428.29 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 6.5 percent, €724.9 million of cold rolled steel strip - decreasing by 2.1 percent, €423.43 million of cold drawn wire - declining by 2.9 percent, and €1.85 billion of metal structures and parts - down by 0.5 percent, all compared to 2018.
